Undersheriff Ken Johnson began his career in law enforcement in July of 1992 here at the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Cadet. After graduation from the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy he worked patrol and in the training division. Undersheriff Johnson would ultimately work and command every division within the Sheriff’s Office. He promoted through each supervisory rank within the agency. He retired in 2015 holding the rank of Major. Sheriff Adan Mendoza appointed Undersheriff Johnson to his current position on January 1, 2019. Undersheriff Johnson has over 2500 hours of advanced training in various areas of law enforcement to include numerous management courses. He is a graduate of the 252nd Session of the FBI National Academy.
