Major Michael Delgado began his career in September 2003 here at the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Cadet. After graduation from the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy, he worked patrol and later became a Detective. Major Delgado would ultimately promote through each rank to his current position. Major Delgado worked a greater part of his career as a patrol supervisor. He was also a member and Team Leader of the SWAT team for over 10 years. In 2018 Major Delgado received the prestigious Association of Former Agents U.S. Secret Service, Harry Neal Award for his exceptional heroism in his pursuit and apprehension of an armed and dangerous felon on July 25, 2017.
